NAEP U.S. History and Civics Challenge

Made on behalf of the National Assessment Governing Board, this video series explores what American citizens know about eighth-grade civics and history questions. We went to the National Mall to see how people answered questions about the history and civics assessment.
Roles included scripting interview questions, creating scripts and voice-overs, discussing objectives and timelines with the client, animating graphics in After Effects, finding appropriate music tracks, shooting interviews and b-roll, editing, and delivering the final project.

In this documentary-style stop-motion film, we follow Rita Pavloff, a San Francisco native, as she navigates the bustling streets of New York City. Using a captivating mix of cutout characters, hand-drawn animation, photographs, and stickers. Rita crafts a whimsical portrait of the city, capturing its secret corners and enchanting energy.
Produced, filmed, and edited by Sophia Handel for Visual Effects II class at Towson University (2021).
The film is brought to life using Dragon Frame, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
This coming-of-age story delves into the life of a Brooklynite navigating the unforgiving landscape of the 1940s. Constantly underestimated by those around him, our protagonist embarks on a unique and challenging odyssey. Through trial and error, he defies expectations and achieves success and uncovers his true potential and identity.
Produced, filmed, and edited by Sophia Handel for an independent study class at Towson University (2021). Software used includes Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Audition.
